Raw Selection recently conducted a thorough salary report focusing on Chief Financial Officers within the HVAC Services sector, particularly those backed by Private Equity firms. Here’s a detailed breakdown of our findings across different revenue brackets:
For companies with revenue below $50 million, CFO salaries ranged from $160,000 to $300,000 annually, with a median salary of $212,500. In terms of bonuses, 68% of CFOs in this category received under 50% of their base salary, though some bonuses reached up to 100%. Additionally, a substantial 81% of CFOs had an equity stake in their organizations, reflecting a strong alignment of interests between the executives and the company’s long-term goals.
In the $50 million to $150 million revenue range, CFO salaries varied from $100,000 to $400,000, with a median salary of $276,053. Bonuses in this bracket were similar to the lower revenue category, with 68% of CFOs receiving under 50% of their base salary, and the highest bonus reported at 100%. Equity participation decreased slightly, with 63% of CFOs receiving an equity stake in their companies.
For companies generating over $150 million in revenue, CFO salaries ranged from $150,000 to $415,000, yielding a median salary of approximately $285,706. The bonus structure in this higher revenue category showed more variability, with 29% receiving under 50% of their base salary and bonuses going up to 200%. Equity stakes were prevalent in this segment, with 71% of CFOs holding equity, underscoring the importance of long-term incentives in attracting and retaining top executive talent.
