HOW PRIVATE EQUITY FIRM NORVESTOR EXPANDED INTO DENMARK WITH THEIR FIRST SENIOR HIRE

Norvestor Equity has partnered with Nordic businesses for nearly three decades, and sought to acquire an Investment Director to head up the brand-new Denmark segment of their business and to build a team in Copenhagen.

REASON FOR THE SEARCH

This position of Investment Director in Denmark was highly desired by the Private Equity Firm in order for the company to expand and grow a brand-new team in Copenhagen, and also to cultivate and extend the Danish market.

THE PRIVATE EQUITY FIRM

Norvestor typically invests in companies that provide services where digitisation or technology can be used to make sustainable efficiency gains to create remarkable value for clients and society. The firm operates with a strong culture of respect, and an entrepreneurial and commercial approach to business, and works very closely with their Portfolio Companies, with several of their partners actually having previously worked in an executive position within a blue-chip company.

THE SEARCH REQUIREMENTS

This new role specifically required over 10 years of Private Equity experience, a successful track record, a strong network across Denmark, and of course, Danish speaking, meaning that a very specialised candidate was vital to find.

Although Norvestor is a Nordics founded Private Equity Firm, the Investment Director and first hire in Copenhagen, Denmark is a crucial hire. They had already explored the market for over 6 months to no success with one of the largest search firms in the world. They then turned to Raw Selection, which prides itself on difficult-to-fill roles.

After assessing over 100 candidates, Raw Selection identified a great profile who was subsequently hired for the role.

Raw Selection followed our extensive 14-step search process, identifying over 500 potential profiles which were then cut down to a shortlist of 17, all of whom had been fully interviewed and measured for culture fit.

The profile who was hired had outstanding experience in regards to evaluation of new investment opportunities, valuations, financial modelling, managing the investment process, leading and executing various value creation initiatives in the portfolio companies, and also building a strong network.
