REASON FOR THE SEARCH

ArchiMed had a new position open up due to an increase in deals across the DACH region.

THE PRIVATE EQUITY FIRM

ArchiMed was established in 2014 by the global leaders of 3i Corporation's Healthcare team. They focus on investing in healthcare globally across a variety of industries including Biopharma, MedTech, Medical Devices, Diagnostics, Life Sciences, Healthcare IT, and Consumer Health. ArchiMed works closely with their portfolio companies to drive business growth through international expansion, additional products, acquisitions, and organic growth. They invest in both small and mid-cap companies.

THE SEARCH REQUIREMENTS

The ideal candidate would meet the following criteria:

  • 15+ years of Private Equity experience
  • Fluency in multiple languages
  • Willingness to relocate to Lyon, France (relocation support included)
  • Experience in leading deals from origination to exit
  • 3 to 5 years of M&A, finance, and transaction experience
  • Board-level experience
  • Buyout experience

WHY RAW SELECTION

We have previously worked with ArchiMed, and they came to us because they trusted our process. They required a profile with at least 8 years of Private Equity experience, a proven track record of leading deals from origination to exit, and someone with healthcare investment experience.

Filling this role presented three major challenges:

  1. The firm is located in Lyon, a city not traditionally known for a high concentration of Private Equity firms or talent.
  2. The firm needed a candidate with international investment experience willing to relocate to Lyon.
  3. ArchiMed had a strict non-compete in place with several international funds, significantly reducing the talent pool available to them.

Despite these challenges, Raw Selection is proven in completing difficult searches, and we were able to provide ArchiMed with a standout candidate in just 3 weeks.

THE PROCESS

Upon starting this search, Raw Selection’s Managing Partner worked closely with the hiring manager and other key team members to build a full picture of the company, its employees, the culture, and exactly the type of profile needed for this role.

After conducting over 120 screening calls and 15+ interviews, Raw Selection identified a strong candidate who was subsequently hired for the role.

Raw Selection followed our extensive 15-step search process, identifying 372 potential profiles, which were then cut down to a shortlist of 14 candidates. All shortlisted candidates were fully interviewed and assessed for culture fit.

We focused on sourcing candidates from non-core Private Equity countries, targeting those who were more flexible about relocation, e.g., individuals without children in school. To further sell the location and the role, we also created a detailed search pack with information on relocating and living in Lyon.

Marcin is an exceptional talent. From our first conversation, I knew he would be a great fit for ArchiMed. Marcin’s background working for Riverside as a generalist across Europe, along with experience at smaller private equity firms in Poland, made him an ideal candidate for ArchiMed.

However, it was Marcin’s personality that truly stood out. I immediately recognized that he would be a cultural fit for ArchiMed. Since our introduction, Marcin has been promoted and now holds the role of Principal, where he is leading and managing his own deals.
