REASON FOR THE SEARCH
ArchiMed is looking to fill a new position due to their expansion from an increase of deals across the DACH region.
THE PRIVATE EQUITY FRIM
ArchiMed was established in 2014 by the global leaders of 3i Corporation Healthcare team. They focus on investing in healthcare globally in a variety of industries including Biopharma, MedTech, Medical Devices, Diagnostics, Life Sciences, Healthcare IT, and Consumer Health. They work closely with their portfolio companies to drive business growth through international expansion, additional products, acquisitions, and organic growth. They invest in both small and mid-cap companies.
THE SEARCH REQUIREMENT
- Private Equity (10+ years)
- Experience in leading deals from origination to exit
- M&A experience
- Finance or transaction experience
- Deal flow experience
WHY RAW SELECTION
ArchiMed had worked with a few other search firms before coming to Raw Selection. Because of the complexities of the search, they hadn’t received any suitable candidates from the other firms and so decided to go retained with Raw Selection to guarantee the right candidate.
Filling this role also came with three major challenges:
- The firm is located in Lyon, which is not an area that is typically rife with Private Equity firms and talent.
- The firm required a non-French candidate with international investment experience who would relocate to Lyon.
- The firm had a strict non-compete in place with a number of international funds, which significantly reduced the talent pool available to them.
THE PROCESS
To secure the candidate, Raw Selection followed their extensive 15-step process to ensure a great match was found for the vacancy.
Upon starting this search, Raw Selection’s managing partner worked with the hiring manager Andre-Michel Ballester, and other key team members, in order to build out a full picture of the company, the employees, the culture, and exactly the type of profile that was needed to succeed in this position.
After conducting over 120 screening calls and 15+ interviews, Raw Selection identified Marcin Goszyk, who was subsequently hired for the role.
Raw Selection followed their extensive 15-step search process, identifying 450 potential profiles, which was then cut down to a shortlist of 9, all of whom had been fully interviewed and measured for culture fit.
They did this by focusing on non-core PE countries and by finding profiles that were more flexible for relocation. They also created a search pack with lots of information on relocating and living in Lyon to sell the location as well as the role.
This search was urgent with an immediate need to fill, so by choosing the retained option, ArchiMed knew they could expect quick results, and we were able to provide the candidate they ultimately hired within 3 weeks of taking on the search.
