REASON FOR THE SEARCH
The portfolio company had a position open up for a new Commercial Executive and trusted Raw Selection to take on a completely confidential search due to the previous success they had obtained from our last 2 searches with them.
THE PRIVATE EQUITY FIRM
The Private Equity firm is a well-established business that was founded in 2004. They specialize in investing in Aerospace & Defence companies globally in the lower to middle market. They have offices in the US and London.
THE PORTFOLIO COMPANY
Aerospares 2000 has over 350 customers globally and works with many of the world's leading airlines, cargo operators, and leasing companies. They have won the 2017 Queen's award for enterprise and have grown completely organically with no outside-funded debt.

WHY RAW SELECTION
Raw Selection has worked with Acorn Growth Companies on two previous successful searches, although this particular search for a Commercial Executive for a portfolio company in the UK was strictly confidential.

THE PROCESS
To secure the candidate, Raw Selection followed their extensive 15-step process to ensure a great match was found for this search.
Raw Selection commences every search by discussing and understanding the full search requirement and brief. Raw Selection’s Managing Partner, Alex Rawlings, led the search and worked with the Hiring Manager, Carol Crick, at Acorn in order to build out a full picture of the company, the employees, the culture, and exactly the type of profile that was needed to succeed in this position.
After conducting over 230 screening calls and 35 interviews, Raw Selection identified 5 potential profiles. We identified an excellent profile, Alejandro Caravaca Portillo, who was subsequently hired.

THOUGHTS ON THE SEARCH
Aerospares 2000, an Acorn Growth Companies business, had an urgent need to expand their commercial team to grow into new markets across Europe. We were undergoing a search at the same time for them for a CFO and therefore turned to Raw Selection to complete this hire. The requirement was very tight, needing a profile based locally to the office, with prior experience from a competitor. The added challenge of needing Spanish native language skills for international client expansion made this a particularly tough search process. Our 15-step sourcing process unearthed an exceptional candidate, Alejandro, who worked for a direct competitor, GA Telesis, and spoke native Spanish.
