THE REASON FOR THE SEARCH
A leading growth equity firm is considering a confidential search for a new Director, Head of HR. The current Head of HR, while competent and not a liability, has not fully aligned with the firm's entrepreneurial culture or established strong credibility with the Managing Directors. The role predominantly supports U.S. operations with some crossover into Europe. The firm is currently exploring the possibility and has not yet made any final decisions.

THE PORTFOLIO COMPANY
Founded in 2014, the firm partners with software companies at critical growth inflection points. With over $10 billion in AUM and more than 140 platforms and 500+ add-on acquisitions, it invests in software companies across North America, Europe, and Israel. Their sector focus includes Big Data & Infrastructure, Cloud Business Apps, eCommerce, Healthcare SaaS, Integrated Software/Payments, and Security. The firm has offices in Boston, Kansas City, London, Paris, Madrid, and Tel Aviv.
THE SEARCH REQUIREMENTS
- Prior experience as Head of HR in a growth-focused organization
- Background in finance or private equity preferred, though not essential
- Entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to operate flexibly
- Experience building scalable and repeatable HR functions
CHALLENGES
The existing Head of HR has struggled to establish credibility, lacks outgoing traits, and is not perceived as relationship-oriented, which has limited buy-in from Managing Directors. There is a need for a leader who can thrive in an entrepreneurial environment, demonstrate strong interpersonal skills, and effectively prioritize within a dynamic setting.
